DIY: Bar Cart

Sorry Loves! I know it has been a while. The holidays got the best of me! Today I want to show you how to decorate your very own bar cart for the fraction of the price it normally would!

I first looked on Pinterest! Yes, Pinterest always wins. There are many ways you can style a bar cart, so I needed some inspiration of how I wanted to style mine. I settled on this one!

Then I started looking for the actual cart. I soon realized that bar carts are way out of my price range, so I started looking at bathroom and utility carts. I chose this one from Target.

I didn’t love the color of it, so I decided to spray paint it.  I enlisted the help of the spray paint master herself (my momma). Very easy for anyone to do, but she is the best, so I just had her do it. She swears by the Rust-oleum brand, but any brand will do!

As the paint dried I worked on finding my décor! I went to Marshalls and picked up a few goodies such as an ice bucket, a mason jar (that’s the theme in my room), and some glasses! I got these all for under $30! It pays to shop at discount stores! Then I took it home to style what I had on the newly dried bar cart! I knew it would missing the alcohol (bottom section), but I could get a feel for what it still needed!

So then last, but not least I went out to get a few more decorations and most importantly the alcohol! Here is my finished project! I can’t wait to see how you make your own bar car!

Affordable Ways to decorate for Fall

I don’t know about all of you, but I am OBSESSED with Fall. I mean what is there not to love!? Hoodies, bonfires, pumpkin EVERYTHING, and football! So as soon as there is a first cool day my fall decorating begins. I know we are all on a budget, so below you will find cheap way to decorate inside and outside. I did all this decorating for under $20.00!

Centerpiece: This gem was all from dollar store, and then a bit of spray paint. I already had candle holder, but I know you could find them fairly cheap. Then the leaves and pumpkins were all from my local dollar tree. Then I just spray painted the pumpkins and the rim on the candle holder. Once all dried I layered the leaves and pumpkins until the candle holder was full.  (Tip: Start the layering with the leaves)

Mums: You can find a Mum at your local home improvement store. Right now at Lowe’s there are 2 for $8.00.

Fake Pumpkin: I got this pumpkin at a local craft store called Michaels. Michaels always has very good coupons, so I picked up this pumpkin for $10.00

Must Haves to Make your Home Cozy

Favorite Candle– There is just something about a burning candle that I think just makes a home warm and inviting. I don’t know about you, but I am so PICKY about scents. So when I find a scent, I stock up and usually don’t change it. That is just what happened with me and Bath and Body Works Limoncello. On their website is is described as ” blend of fresh Sorrento lemons, cane sugar and a hint of lemon zest.” You can purchase it for $22.50.

Pictures– My family means so much to me, so I have a feature wall in my hallway. As I walk by it I just have a smile on my face. Seeing them all  on my wall makes me feel loved and genuinely lucky. To make a wall like mine you can buy different sizes of picture frames from discount stores and print pictures at Walgreens. Use the code ‘GREATPICS40’ until September 13th, 2016 to receive 40% off your prints!

Unique Pieces–  A unique piece can really be anything. Well anything that you can’t go to your local Target and buy. For me it usually means antique and vintage stores. I have a favorite local place that I can always find great pieces at. My favorite piece I ever bought is an old wooden window. It wasn’t in perfect condition it has chipping paint and a cracked glass, but something about it stands out to me. It is PERFECT to me, and really is one of those pieces I think makes my house a home.

Blanket– I am a sucker for a good blanket. You usually can find me if you look for a blanket. I am always under a blanket, and not always because I am cold. I just love the way they feel and how cozy they are. My favorite blankets are from Vera Bradley. They are very soft and warm, but not too warm. You can get them in a variety of colors and patterns for $49.00.
